A viral video on Facebook raised concern after it supposedly showed clips of teenagers in an unidentified school shitting and vomiting everywhere. The almost 2:00 minute video quickly went viral giving no backstory on what people were seeing.
The Facebook page Ficarre posted the video on Tuesday with the caption “Shitstorm.” The video appears to be multiple clips of kids helplessly shitting and vomiting around an unknown school in uniform. In just 11 hours the video managed to receive over 1.3 million views and over 44,000 shares.
Some in the comment section knew exactly what the video was, while many others were left wondering what they had just watched. Those concerned can rest easy. The video is chopped up clips from the trailer for season 2 of American Vandal. In the viral version on Facebook, all talking and explanation of what was going on were removed to give the appearance of a literal shitstorm.
The first season of American Vandal was a “mockumentary” television series created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda. It originally aired last year and was said to be a satire version of true crime documentaries such as Making a Murderer and Serial.
In season 1, Dylan Maxwell — known as the “class clown” — is expelled after he is accused of defacing 27 faculty cars with phallic images. Peter Maldonado, along with his friend Sam Ecklund decide to do an investigation into the vandalism in order to see if Maxwell was truly responsible for the vandalism.
In season 2, Maldonado and Ecklund are investigating at a Catholic school after the lemonade was spiked causing what became known as “the brownout.” In the preview, the person responsible is known as “The Turd Burglar.” The description for the preview on Netflix’s YouTube channel reads as follows.
Milk, milk, lemonade…around the corner, justice is made.
Filmmakers Peter Maldonado and Sam Ecklund point their investigative lens at St. Bernardine, a private high school recently terrorized by a vandal known only as The Turd Burglar. Kevin McClain, a junior, has been expelled and awaits trial for the crimes. But is justice being served? Is the system rigged against the disenfranchised? And who is The Turd Burglar?
