People on Facebook are trying to get people all around the country to “Scream Like Goku”
A viral video showed people screaming like Goku on Monday in front of the Washington Arch
Multiple events have popped up on Facebook attempting to organize more scream like Goku events
This would not be the first time that the Dragon Ball Z franchise has had something go viral
A bizarre trend is trying to take form on social media. The idea behind it is based on the main character from Dragon Ball Z, Goku.
Events are popping up all over Facebook titled “Scream Like Goku.” These events are encouraging people to gather at different areas around the country and then basically scream like the legendary super Saiyan Goku.
Washington Square Arch
A video below posted to Facebook by Nick Royall shows a group of people screaming like Goku in front of the Washington Square Arch. The video has over 7 million views, and the post it is included in has been shared over 130,000 times since it was posted yesterday afternoon.
Since the video went viral, people are planning their own scream like Goku events all around the country. One of the larger ones is set to happen in the North Star Mall in San Antonio, Texas on October 13 at 5:00 pm. So far, over 3,000 people say they will be attending the event.
Over 1,400 people say they are interested in screaming like Goku in front of the Gandhi statue located in Marina Beach, Chennai, India on Saturday. One event looks to to scream like Goku in front of Trump Tower on September 22, although that one has not grabbed as many interested people as some of the others.
It’s Over 9,000
If the scream like Goku trend continues to grow, it will not be the first time Dragon Ball Z goes viral. The animated show is the source of the famous meme “It’s over 9,000,” which was famously said by the prince of all Saiyans, Vegeta. We can only hope that this trend does keep hold and we see a growth in people screaming like Goku all around the country.
