The two are being held in jail for first-degree murder and could be arraigned as soon as Monday
On Sunday we reported that Frank Ancona, the Grand Wizard of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, was confirmed to be found dead on the banks of the Big River. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
It was determined that the injury was not be self-inflicted and Ancona’s death was being investigated as a homicide.
Jinkerson Shot Ancona
On Monday it was reported that his wife, 44-year-old Malissa Ann Ancona Leadwood, and stepson, 24-year-old Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr. Belgrade, have been charged with first-degree murder for the death of Ancona.
St. Francois County Sheriff’s Det. Matt Wampler wrote in the probable cause statement that Jinkerson shot Ancona in his bedroom as he slept on Thursday. Jinkerson then placed Ancona’s body in his vehicle and dumped it.
During a search of the home on Saturday police reported that they found a substantial amount of blood evidence. Malissa would later tell police that Jinkerson shot Ancona and she had tried to help him clean up the blood.
Ancona was shot between 2:00 am and 3:00 am. Jinkerson did not live at the Ancona’s home, but was known to stay there when needed. Ancona was not reported missing until Friday.
Jinkerson Faces Unrelated Charges
At this time the motive behind the murder is not clear. A source close to the family told TDH that there were Malissa and Jinkerson both had issues with a pill addiction. At this time there is no reason to believe that the area where Jinkerson ditched the body had any relevant meaning aside from being close.
Jinkerson faces unrelated charges of property damage and attempted stealing. He was arrested and jailed over the weekend due to violating his probation from a 2016 drug charge.
Jinkerson and Malissa are being held in jail without bond and could be charged as soon as Tuesday.
