Salt Lake City Police say Leon-Alfaro was trying to film the young girl
A disturbing video taken in Salt Lake City, Utah shows the moment a mother confronted 36-year-old Jorge Leon-Alfaro for trying to film her 12-year-old daughter in the dressing room of Rue 21 located at 1140 Brickyard Road.
Doris Stiles-Scown got on her Facebook LIVE after she had chased the man down in the parking lot on Saturday evening. By the time Stiles-Scown’s video begins, Leon-Alfaro is already sitting on the ground. A group of random shoppers and security ensure he does not leave the area before police arrive.
“This right here is what a predator looks like,” Stiles-Scown says. “I caught this guy underneath my daughter’s stall while she was changing at Rue 21 and I had to chase him all the way down. Thankfully I got him. Not today buddy. Not today.”
Detective Greg Wilking with Salt Lake City Police Department stated there was enough evidence on-scene to arrest and charge Leon-Alfaro with voyeurism. Wilking did not go into any details on what the evidence was, but he did confirm Leon-Alfaro was trying to film the girl.
According to Stiles-Scown, she was shopping with her daughter. Her daughter was trying on clothes when Stiles-Scown went to grab a different size. When she came back she was shocked to see Leon-Alfaro under the stall grabbing at her daughter’s legs.
Stiles-Scown says she yelled at Leon-Alfaro, followed by an employee of Rue 21 yelling as well. Leon-Alfaro exited the store and was running through the parking lot until Stiles-Scown managed to catch him.
In the video, Stiles-Scown promises the man that her video was going to go viral, and she was going to make sure people knew who he was. Stiles-Scown kept her promises. At the time of this article, the video had received over 11 million views in the two days it has been up.
