Who Is Jayden K Smith And Why Is He Trying To Hack My Facebook

Who is Jayden K. Smith and is he really trying to hack your Facebook

  • A message on Facebook claims your account will be hacked if you accept the friend request of Jayden K Smith

  • The hoax message made it to the UK over the weekend

  • Dance of the Pope is another hoax message that has spread through Facebook

The idea of being hacked sends panic directly into the heart of Internet users all around the world. People do ridiculous things in an attempt to protect themselves from being hacked, the only problem is, most people do not even understand how a basic simple hack works.

The world just got a reminder of exactly how naive some are to hacking and Internet safety after a message on Facebook has caught international attention warning users of a highly-trained hacker going by the name Jayden K. Smith.

Agent Smith

Smith’s hacking skills are so advanced there is no need to obtain your email, password, or personal information for the hack to work. Apparently Smith’s “system” is “connected to your Facebook account,” according to a message circulating on Facebook. The message reads as follows:

Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept Jayden K. Smith friendship request. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.

There have been several variants of the Facebook message, including names for the hacker, such as Anwar Jitou. However, the message was around before the recent viral attention. It has been circulating the Web over different platforms since at least April of 2015. Depending on the platform, the warning has changed from friend request to email and even text message.

Dance Of The Pope

Contrary to popular belief, you cannot have your Facebook account hacked by accepting a friend request. The Smith hack warning hoax is reminiscent of the “Dance of the Pope” hoax that periodically gets regurgitated to social media.

The Dance of the Pope is allegedly a video that gets sent through messenger. Once you click the video to watch it, it “formats your mobile.” The warning reads as follows:

Please also tell all contacts from your list not to accept a video called the “Dance of the Pope”. It is a virus that formats your mobile. Beware it is very dangerous. They announced it today on the radio. Fwd this msg to as many as you can!

There has never been a radio station, or news outlet, confirmed that released a warning of the Dance of the Pope. There has also never been a confirmed victim of the video.
