Charles Manson has been at the center of countless Internet hoaxes claiming he was getting released on parole, and that he was dead. Recently the latter of the two hoaxes has blossomed into a possible reality.
Officials rushed 83-year-old Manson from Corcoran State Prison to a Bakersfield hospital earlier in the week. Krissi Khokhobashvili, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, would only comment “Charles Manson is alive,” due to state and medical privacy laws.
His Health Is Failing
In January, Manson, 82, was rushed to a Bakersfield hospital for intestinal bleeding. Doctors reportedly wanted to perform surgery, but Manson refused. Later Manson had a change of heart and was willing to go through with the surgery, but doctors ultimately canceled it due to a concern that he would die on the operating table.
When there was nothing left that the hospital could do, Manson was returned to Corcoran. There were security concerns from Manson staying at the hospital. At that time, a source close to the situation told TMZ, “He’s not good. His health is failing.”
The Manson Family
Born November 12, 1934, Manson led a murder campaign with his cult followers, “The Manson Family.” Manson became one of the most infamous American criminals in history. Manson is known as a murderer, despite the fact that he was never found guilty of committing a single murder.
The lack of committing the crimes himself makes Manson unique. His name became synonymous with evil not because of his actions, but because of his ability to influence others to commit such heinous crimes.
