Tribeca STL announced in a statement that Hilary Brooke Thornton was fired for trying to stop D’Arreion Nuriyah Toles from entering his apartment
Toles posted three videos to his Facebook of the incident
On Sunday Tribeca released a statement
Thornton’s ex-husband Brandon Mueller released a video denouncing her actions
Just days after Hilary Brooke Thornton went viral after trying to prevent D’Arreion Nuriyah Toles from entering his apartment building, the company she worked for Tribeca STL announced she has been fired.
On Sunday Tribeca announced they had fired Thornton in a “Message From Tribeca Management.” The statement says the company is “minority-owned” and consists of “employees and residents from many racial backgrounds.”
Tribeca-STL was recently shared a video containing a disturbing interaction that we believe is important to clarify.
The video did involve one of our employees, but the event did NOT take place at Tribeca-STL and did NOT involve one of our tenants. The video is showing the employee in her private life at her own residence interacting with another person.
The Tribeca-STL family is a minority-owned company that consists of employees and residents from many racial backgrounds. We are proud of this fact and do not and never will stand for racism or racial profiling at our company.
After a review of the matter the employee has been terminated and is no longer with our Company. At Tribeca-STL we want all residents, guests and visitors to feel welcome, safe and respected.
Toles said in an interview with KMOV, “I am not mad at her. I am not upset with her. I am not going to go after her legally or anything like that. I wish her the best. I would still have a conversation with her.”
After an image of Thornton and her ex-husband, Brandon Mueller began spreading online, Mueller — CEO of The Matus Group Rela Estate Advisors — made a video of his own for Facebook explaining the two have been separated for over a year. In the video, Mueller hopes the community will be able to grow after the actions of his estranged wife.
Despite countless people having their lives ruined by racist behavior caught on camera, these videos keep on popping up and going viral.
In the latest viral video, D’Arreion Nuriyah Toles was stopped by a white woman while trying to enter his luxury apartment in St Louis, Missouri. The woman in the video was later identified as Hilary Brooke, a property manager at an apartment building managed by Tribeca, STL.
Toles posted three videos to his Facebook early Saturday morning. The videos show Brooke refusing to allow Toles to enter the building after she clearly doubted he belonged in the luxury building. All three videos can be seen below.
Despite whatever concerns Brooke claims to have had after Toles pushes his way into the building she forces herself into the elevator with him. Brooke proceeds to follow Toles while saying if he lives there that makes them neighbors and they should meet.
Toles keeps his cool and goes into his apartment. After unlocking the door to his apartment, he clearly shows Brooke that his key is in the lock, before giving a hard pass on her invitation to be friends. As he closes his door, Brooke is heard saying “Wow.”
In his post on Facebook, Toles claims regardless of Brooke witnessing him unlock his apartment door; police were still at his door 30 minutes later. Instead of leaving Toles be, Brooke apparently still called the police.
