A drug bust of unprecedented quantity is coming out of North Carolina, as agents of the City County Drug Task Force, along with officers from Halifax County Sheriff’s Office managed to seize one “Fruity Pebbles marijuana bar” during a traffic stop.
If you are not impressed by the one Fruity Pebbles bar bust, it should also be stated that the two agencies also seized marijuana, a mason jar with marijuana residue, rolling papers, and a marijuana grinder.
Wrapped In Plastic
WRAL reported that the Fruity Pebbles marijuana bar was wrapped in plastic that was sealed with a piece of tape. It was also reported that an additional piece of the bar was found in the center console.
According to WRAL, the bar was said to be “very potent” users consumed the bar in “very small portions.” It is reported that the dangerous bar was made with “cannabutter.”
Derrick Jermaine Priest
The driver of the vehicle containing such a dangerous shipment of one marijuana bar has been identified as Derrick Jermaine Priest, 31, of Saint Pauls, North Carolina. According to WRAL, Priest is charged with possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He will appear in court on July 26.
If the fact that two agencies involved in this ridiculously small cannabis bust are not enough to show you how ridiculous the failed “War on Drugs” is, let alone the war on cannabis, I do not know what is.
One Bar Down
The fact that a local news agency saw this arrest as newsworthy should make it quite clear how ridiculous some of our country’s views on cannabis is. Above and beyond the article, the fact that this “bust” was the result of two agencies working together managed to pull this bust off should be concerning at the least for the taxpayers in the area.
In these agencies eyes, we can all rest easy knowing this one Fruity Pebbles marijuana bar is off the streets, along with the more dangerous threat of under two ounces of cannabis.
