Chris Ward’s aunt claims he is not the person responsible for the shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas
In an interview with CBS, a gas station clerk named Carrie identified Chris Ward as the shooter
Edith Sommer, who claims to be Ward’s aunt, posted to her Facebook that he is not the shooter
As of now, it is reported 27 are dead and over two dozen are injured

Following a deadly shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, information about the shooting is pouring at a dangerous and unverified level.
In an interview with CBS, a gas station clerk who works near the First Baptist Church. The woman named Carrie said, “We heard the gunshots as we were cleaning up the driveway of the store.”
Carrie goes on to say they did not think anything of it at first until police began arriving in the area. She then states that they were told 16 people were killed and at least 30 were injured.
She then says that neighbors told them that the shooters name is “Chris Ward,” who allegedly killed his entire family first. After Carrie named Ward, the interview is quickly ended as the anchorwoman explains they are awaiting word from authorities.
A post on Facebook from Edith Sommer, Ward’s aunt, reads, “FYI: Chris Ward was NOT the shooter!” In the comments, Sommer goes on to say, “He is my nephew and we are at the hospital trying to find out if his wife and babies are dead! His family are victims!”
According to his Facebook profile, Ward is from La Vernia, Texas, but lives in Sutherland Springs. A post from September 24, 2011, reads, “getting married on nov 5 to joann i love my baby and she brings me nothing but happiness i love u joann ward,” which means today would be there five year anniversary.
At roughly 11:15 am, a man said to be wearing tactical gear entered the church and opened fire. It is reported at least 27 are dead, and over two dozen are injured. The shooter is also reported to be dead, and there is no current threat in the area.
As of now, there has been no confirmation on who the shooter is and what their motives were.
