Catland Books is hosting a ritual to hex Brett Kavanaugh on October 20
Catland Books has hosted three hexes against President Donald Trump in the last year
Organizer Dakota Bracciale said the $10:00 tickets for the event have already sold out
According to the Facebook event page 50% of all profits will be going to charity
Following Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation into the Supreme Court, Catland Books bookstore in Brooklyn, New York is welcoming witches to place a hex on him.
According to the “Ritual to Hex Brett Kavanaugh” event on Facebook — which has 1,300 saying they are attending and over 13,000 interested — the hex is set to take place on October 20, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Anybody is welcome to attend, but there is a $10.00 cover charge to attend. The about section does state that nobody will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
Half of all proceeds will go to charity with 25% going to the Ali Forney Center — a group that supports homeless LGBT youth — and 25% going to Planned Parenthood. Co-owner of Catland Books and organizer of the event Dakota Bracciale asked for those who cannot attend but support the hex to donate to one of the two organizations.
Please join us for a public hex on Brett Kavanaugh, upon all rapists and the patriarchy at large which emboldens, rewards and protects them. We are embracing witchcraft’s true roots as the magik of the poor, the downtrodden and disenfranchised and it’s history as often the only weapon, the only means of exacting justice available to those of us who have been wronged by men just like him.
He will be the focal point, but by no means the only target, so bring your rage and and all of the axes you’ve got to grind. There will also be a second ritual afterward – “The Rites of the Scorned One” which seeks to validate, affirm, uphold and support those of us who have been wronged and who refuse to be silent any longer.
50% of the event proceeds will be donated to charity:
25% to the Ali Forney Center and 25% to Planned Parenthood.
Please note that no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Tickets have already sold out for the hex. In an interview with Newsweek, Bracciale said those attending are “basically Antifa witches … There are a lot of angry people who are righteously filled with rage that are going to take back our country.”
After the hex, a second ritual will be performed. “The Rites of the Scorned One” will “validate, affirm, uphold and support those of us who have been wronged and who refuse to be silent any longer.”
Bracciale has organized three hexes in the last year against President Donald Trump at Catland Books. As of now, the hex against Kavanaugh has received about double the attention of the previous Trump hexes.
