Active shooter situation reported at the Montage condominiums in Reno

Update 11:28 pm: The suspect in Tuesday night’s shooting is now being reported dead. The name of the shooter has not been released at this time.
Police say the shooter was barricaded inside his hotel room with a hostage. The hostage is safe with no injuries. It is not known at this time what the relationship between the hostage and the shooter was.
The shooter fired shots at police inside the Montage condominium. Officers returned fire, striking the man who died on his way to the hospital. Police claim they initially did not think the suspect’s wounds were life threatening.
Officer-Involved Shooting Protocol has been enacted, but it is not clear as of yet what agency will handle that investigation. There was a report of one other injury involving someone’s hand, but the injury was not said to be serious.
Update 10:39 pm: Suspect has been detained by police. There are no reports of anyone injured at this time.
Update 10:21 pm: One male suspect is said to be “contained” inside the Montage. Police are now negotiating with the suspect.
An active shooter situation has been reported from the Montage Condominiums located at 255 N Sierra St in Reno. Little details are known at this moment.
Witnesses have said that a suspect was firing from a balcony at the Montage. The reports say the shooter is located on the NorthEast corner of the building firing towards Sierra St and Virginia St. Some reports have said law enforcement has closed down 2nd Avenue, 4th Avenue, Commercial St, and Virginia St.
The shooter has fired at least six shots. No injuries have been reported at this time. A few witnesses at the scene have photos and pictures to Twitter.
