On Saturday it was reported that 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz’s brutal murder on Wednesday night spawned from a sex tape and a case of mistaken identity
Guzman-Feliz was dragged out of a corner store by a group of men and stabbed in the throat with machetes
Police said on Saturday they are looking into claims the murder was related to a sex tape Guzman-Feliz knew nothing about
Guzman-Feliz’s sister and brother-in-law claim to have received mea culpa messages from men claiming to be a part of Trinitarios
Just days ago 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz was brutally stabbed outside a corner store in New York by five men—at least two of which were armed with machetes—believed to be gang affiliated.
Video from security cameras and witnesses showed Guzman-Feliz being dragged out of the Cruz and Chiky Grocery on the corner of E. 183rd St. and Bathgate Ave. at around 11:40 p.m.on Wednesday. Once outside of the store, two of the men stabbed the teenager in the throat with machetes.
Guzman-Feliz is seen running from the scene of the attack two blocks to St Barnabas Hospital where he collapsed outside of the emergency room. Friends of Guzman-Feliz said he was requesting water before he died.
The story went viral on social media, which started a manhunt for the men responsible. While many have speculated on the reason behind the brutal attack, on Saturday it was announced that Guzman-Feliz’s death could be a case of mistaken identity.
Guzman-Feliz’s brother-in-law Derek Grullon told New York Daily News that he had received messages on social media from men claiming to be with the Trinitarios, a Dominican gang. Grullon said he and his wife had received several mea culpa messages on their Facebook.
On Saturday, police began investigating to see if the murder was related to a sex tape that had been uploaded to social media. In the video, a teenage boy is rapping while a second boy is having sex with a teenage girl whose face is covered with a shirt.
It is believed the girl in the sex video is the sister of one of the gang members and one of the boys in the video bore resemblance to Guzman-Feliz. The girl’s brother was possibly looking for revenge for posting the sex video online and mistook Guzman-Feliz as the boy in the video.
At least some of the men involved were seen leaving the scene in a black sedan. Police claim to have solid leads in the case, but there have been no arrests made at this time.
On Friday, the New York Police Department released pictures of five men believed to be linked to the brutal murder of 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz on Wednesday.
Five men dragged the teenage boy out of the store, at least two of which were wearing masks. Once outside, the men stabbed Guzman-Feliz in each side of his neck. Guzman-Feliz later died from his injuries at St. Barnabas Hospital.
Video of the incident was caught by both security cameras and witnesses. The videos clearly show the men dragging Guzman-Feliz out of the store then stabbing him once outside. Horrified witnesses can be heard screaming as the boy is attacked.
After the brutal stabbing, at least some of the attackers are seen getting into a black sedan and driving off. Guzman-Feliz can be seen running with his hand on his throat.
Another video shows Guzman-Feliz covered in blood and sitting on the ground as people try desperately to help him.
